President, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, said some professors are getting 8 thousand Naira as salary since the introduction of IPPIS.
Professor Biodun Ogunyemi made the statementwhile featuring on a Channels Television programme on Thursday evening which was monitored by Nigerian Tracker.
ASUU lament non-payment of 5 months’ salary at UNM
The ASUU President buttressed opposition of the union to the IPPIS platform owing to constant cut off of salaries of academic staff.
He said members of ASUU now had their salaries cut by between 50 and 70 per cent, such that some professors got N8,000 as salary for some months.
For seven month now the Academic Staff Union of Universities are on strike due to the IPPIS platform for payment of salaries which did not go in tandem with their peculiarities.
