Kano Trains 260 Private Hospitals For Effective HealthCare Delivery

The Kano State Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA) in collaboration with the DFID – Lafiya Support for Health in Nigeria,  Kano Office have successfully trained over 260 Private Hospitals,  Maternity Homes, and Nursing Homes on the implementation of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) in Kano State.

 

Kano Shuts 6 Private Clinics, Many Laboratories

The program is to provide basic primary care through the provision of a Basic Minimum Package of Health Services (BMPHS) at both Primary and Secondary levels of care to pregnant mothers,  under 5 children,  aged of equal or more than 85 years, the vulnerable,  disabled and less privileged of the State.

 

The participants noted the compliance of the State Government with the Abuja declaration of allocating at least 15% of the State’s budget to health, noting that Kano has gone beyond that with more than 17% allocation in the 2021 budget which is an unrivaled achievement.

The participants expressed their willingness to key into all relevant health programs of the State towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

In his closing remarks the, Executive Secretary PHIMA,  Dr. Usman Tijjani Aliyu appreciates the commitment of the Kano Government to the welfare of the citizens through the provision of the enabling environment for delivering quality health care services to the teeming populace of the State.

 

In a statement by Abba Dalha Soron Dinki said the Executive Secretary urged all private health facilities operators to key into the programs for them to benefit from the various interventions of the health sector.
