Use your platforms to Fight Corruption-CITAD charges bloggers

The centre for Information Technology and Development CITAD has tasked bloggers and online media practitioners to use their platforms in fighting corruption.

The Director of the centre Malam Y Z Yau stated this during the opening ceremony of capacity building Training for bloggers and social influencers in understanding writing for Accountability and Anti Corruption issues in Nigeria held Via Zoom.

Malam YZ Yau said blogs should not only be carrying messages on figures but should be run for Accountability and transparency.

The chief executive officer of CITAD said the conference will also look into the issues of hate speech and combating fake News.

Malam YZ added that after the capacity building he hoped to see more messages by bloggers that has to do with transparency and accountability.

In a remark Oladayo Olaide of MAC Arthur foundation thanks CITAD for convening the capacity building Training for bloggers and influencers.

He said corruption is the most challenging monster in our country and the workshop came at the right time when Nigeria is facing challenges.

Olaide said citizens involvement brings sustainable fight against corruption and their support to CITAD will continue to be maintained.

MAC Arthur foundation representative also asked CITAD to come up with Topics on ethics noting that the capacity building is timely with regards to happenings in Nigeria which is a moment of Sober reflection.
