In recent days the political pendulum of Kano state is getting another dimension as politicians who have been known in Kano for over 5 decades are making efforts to remain relevant in the political equation of Nigeria and the country at large.

One of those politicians is Alhaji Aminu Wali, a former Presidential Adviser to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on National Assembly matters from the years 1999 and 2003.

During the time of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, he was appointed to the plum position of minister of foreign affairs, The political Sage has been on the People’s Democratic Party since its formation in 1999, therefore Aminu Wali can be described as a loyal party member who has never decamp from the fold of PDP since 1999.

While his main Co-Rival in the people’s democratic party and a former Governor of Kano state Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has once changed a party from the PDP to APC prior to the 2015 General elections, the two political gladiators are said to be having a top time over who controls the party in Kano state.

But the recent confession of Aminu Wali that he is ready to reconcile with Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso based on condition has elicited reactions from many quarters including some staunch supporters of Kwankwasiyya Movement in Kano and Nigeria.

RE-Marafa must pullout stooges in Zamfara PDP govt if he wants APC

One of Such supporters was Mustafa Adamu indaba was who wrote on his Facebook page and carried by online Media saying that there will be no reconciliation from the Kwankwasiyya side.

On the part of Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso many politicians in Nigeria and Kano, in Particular, sees him as someone who always wants to control everything in party politics.

Some analysts say since the political career of Kwankwaso starts to wax stronger in Nigeria from 1999, the only person Engineer Kwankwaso’s loyalty is assured of was Former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso too confessed to that in a public gathering at Kano Government House when he held sway as the governor of Kano state form 2011 to 2015, said when in 2007 there were issues about his candidature when he wanted to contest for governorship, it was President Obasanjo that called and appease Kwankwaso to Shelve the idea of contesting for the governorship election in Kano state.

That was how Kwankwaso anointed his protégé Engineer Ahmad Garba Bichi to contest for the elections in 2007.

On the part of Alhaji Aminu Wali who said he wanted to reconcile with Kwankwaso based on condition was that many analysts and political pundits saw Alhaji Aminu Wali as a lackluster politician in his native Kano state.

But despite Kwankwaso’s dominant nature in party affairs, he is seen as a politician who pulls a crowd like the late Muhammad Abubakar Rimi, the first civilian governor of Kano state.

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was also accused of dominating everything in PDP when he decamps back to the party in 2018 and made party leaders like former Governor of Kano State Malam Ibrahim Shekarau run away from the party and carve a niche for himself in APC, the party Co-founded by Malam  Ibrahim Shekarau in 2013.

Since the 2019 general elections KWankwaso has been losing his prominent political allies to the Ganduniyya camp in Kano like Engineer Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, Architect Aminu Abubakar Dabo and General Idris Bello Dambazau and Co.

But the question on the lips of many people is will Alhaji Aminu Bashir Wali and Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso reconcile as the country approaches 2023 general elections.

Aminu Wali was also a close confidant and political benefactor of Engineer Rabiu Musa KWankwaso from 1999 up to the year 2003 when he Alhaji Aminu Wali was the Presidential Adviser on National Assembly, matters to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

But the only problem Alhaji Aminu Wali may face even if he reconciles with Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on condition as he said is who will control the PDP in Kano state and present a gubernatorial flagbearer in 2023 as it is the norm everywhere in Nigeria where Godfathers have a final say.
