According to reports Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano State, North-Western Nigeria, is the most patronized Hospital in West Africa.

But with the huge population of Kano state and patients neighboring other states and some Western Africa countries, the emergency section of the Hospital has turned into a no go area for patients who are afflicted by accident and Emergency.

A visit by the Nigerian Tracker to the accident and Emergency Unit of the Hospital has revealed a horrible scenario where majority of the patients who are on accident and emergency are treated on the floor.

Even those that cannot have immediate attention due to inadequate medical care are left to on their own unless one intervenes on their behalf or they are left to suffer and if their times come they gave up the ghost.

When one also visits the emergency section at  Night, the place is highly blurred as there is no adequate electricity to lighten the whole section of the Hospital where accident and emergency patients are treated.

There have been calls for the Kano state government to revitalize the emergency and accident unit of the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital but to no avail.

The Hospital has become a Mecca of Sort for patients who are underprivileged and cannot afford expensive Medical care in other hospitals across the state.

When contacted by the Nigerian Tracker for comment over the situation at the Murtala Muhammad accident and an emergency section on what Kano state government is doing to halt the sufferings of emergency and accidents patients, the state commissioner for Health Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa was not able to pick the call and is yet to respond to the text message sent to him by the Nigerian Tracker
