Jigawa state police command have prosecuted a village Head in Gagarawa local government area for fraud and extortion on people’s Farm land and for receiving Illegal Compensation of Farmlands.
The public relations officer Jigawa state police command SP Abdul Jinjiri stated this in an interview with Newsmen.
SP Abdul Jinjiri said the Village Head is using the Jigawa state ministry of land and physical planning in the name of compensating individuals whose farm lands was taken over by government.
He said when government took over farm lands from individuals , the village head from Gagarawa will use the Land sheet agreement of farm the original farm owners and send another person to the states ministry of land to receive compensation in the name of the original owners .
Abdul Jinjiri said the village Head will take like 500 thousand Naira as compensation and will later settle his errand with fifty thousand Naira.

According to Abdul Jinjiri the Village head has since been taken to court.
On the allegation that the Village head is being backed by powerful persons to perpetrate fraud Abdul Jinjiri said he is not aware about it.
