During the week ,Emir of Zazzau Alhaji Shehu Idris passed away after a brief illness.
The Late Emir was buried same day according to Islamic Injunctions.
But some Nigerians have been expressing their disappointment over President Buhari’s absence at the funeral prayer. The President, they say, is naive in attending Funeral prayers of prominent persons across the federation unlike his predecessors in office.
When on December 28 2018 Former Nigeria’s President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, died the following day Saturday when his funeral prayers took place in Sokoto led by Professor Shehu Galadanchi many Nigerians expected to sight President Muham madu Buhari at the Funeral Prayers but were disappointed, until the following day when he went to condole the family of the late President.
Another scenario was when his close political associates died in Kano, the President either sent delegation to their Funerals or sent emissaries to condole their families.
One of the examples was when Late Police commissioner Ibrahim Ahmad Babankowa passed away at the early stage of President Buhari’s Government in 2015, the President did not attend the funeral, but his wife Aisha Muhammad Buhari was seen by Nigerian Tracker on NTA screen condoling the families of Late Ahmad Babankowa, the gallant officer who discovered the corpse of Nigeria’s only Prime minister.
Nigerian Tracker is making this analysis of President Buhari not been able to attend Funeral Prayers of Prominent Persons across the federation as President not as an ordinary citizen.
But amazingly his predecessor in office and Kinsman, the late President Umaru Musa Yaradua, was able to attend the Funeral Prayers of Prominent Nigerians who died during his short stint as President of Nigeria.
For example when the Shehu of Borno Late Alhaji Mustapha Umar El-Kanemi died in the year 2009, President Umaru Musa Yaradua was at the front row shoulder to Shoulder with late Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero.
When Governor Mamman Ali of Yobe state also passed away in January 2009 ,Late Umar Musa Yaradua ,even on annual vacation ,cut it short and was among teeming Muslim faithfuls that conducted the Funeral prayers of the Late Governor.
Not only that when President Ibrahim Babangida was President, on September 11th 1992, when Nigeria’s prominent Islamic Scholar Sheikh Abubakar Mahmud Gumi passed away, President Ibrahim Babangida was among Nigerians who were present during his Funeral Prayers.
The reaction that trails President Muhmmad Buhari’s non appearance at the Funeral prayers of Prominent Northern Traditional ruler the Emir of Zazzau Alhaji Shehu Idris prompted Nigerian Tracker to bring you into the fore the issues surrounding the attendance or otherwise of Funeral Prayers of eminent Nigerians by President Muhmmad Buhari.
