<p><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;">Over 2000 women in Kano have been tutored by Civil Society Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria(CS-SUNN)on the tricks of house gardening and usage of immediately available food items to boost nutritional values. Our correspondent gathered.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;">The secretary, CS-SUNN Kano state chapter, Ahmad Tijjani Yau disclosed that in the past nine months, food demonstrations were conducted at major primary health facilities in the state.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;">According to him, fattening and pregnant mothers were empowered with depth knowledge on nutrition, adding that sanitation and hygiene were part of the knowledge that was impacted on to participants during the period under review.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;">Yau who spoke on Thursday during a food demonstration held at an <a href="https://www.pregnancybirthbaby.org.au/antenatal-care"> Ante-Natal Clinic</a>, ANC held at Gwagwarwa Primary Health Care Centre said that community nutrition education sessions were also conducted during Ante-Natal Clinic session(ANC) likewise during Post Ante-Natal Clinic(PNC) sessions across the state. .</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;">He disclosed that town hall meetings were also conducted in communities located in Nassarawa, Fagge, Kano Municipal and Gezawa local government areas.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;">“in all our planned projects for 2020, we are at the last quarter, which would be held later in the year, in various communities, earlier in our previous programs, we taught the women, about local food processing.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;">“We also taught them how to embark on back yard gardening, to help them improve their nutrition, we also helped them to identify food items that are very cheap to acquire and are highly rich in nutrition,” Yau stated.</span></p>
