In its effort to ensure lives and human health are properly maintained and professionally attended to based on professionally guided health terms and conditions as enshrined, stipulated, and laid down by Private Health Institution Management Agency ( PHIMA)has shut down 6 clinics, 4 ultrasound centers and many health laboratories on their failure to adhere to the laid down rules as re-enforced by the agency in the last two weeks.
This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of the agency Dr. Usman Tijjani Aliyu while commending the good effort of the inspection team of the agency in his office.
Dr. Usman said the agency is working hard to ensure safety rules are properly adhered to by all the private health institution facilities operating in Kano.
He maintained that all those private health institutions must ensure they meet and maintain a standard in their operation.
Dr. Usman explained that the present administration of Kano state under the leadership of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR has established the agency to create sanity, safety and to regulate the unguided activities of some of the private health institution in order to ensure the safety of our citizens.
Therefore he called on all the affected institutions to come forward to the agency for proper registration of their facilities and obtain a guideline for their operations.
The Executive Secretary warned all those private institutions operating illegally to stop as measures have already been put in place with proper and effective surveillance to fish out and punish them accordingly.
He emphasized that, gone are those days when such private health institutions were neglected with a lot of anomalies in the safety of our citizens in the name of medical services.
In a statement sent to Nigerian Tracker by the Public Relations officer of the agency Abba Dalha Soron Dinki said The Executive Secretary then assured the government and the people of Kano state his readiness and commitment to protect and uplift the health condition in the Private Health sector.
