<p>Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission has denied involving the Deputy Governor of the state, Nasiru Gawuna in the ongoing investigation over allegations of corruption in the state&#8217;s Ministry of Agriculture.</p>
<p>In a letter signed by the Chairman of the Anti-corruption commission, Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado on Tuesday, the body said Gawuna, who doubles as the state Commissioner of Agriculture, was not involved in the probe.</p>

<p>He said the commission had invited the ministry&#8217;s Permanent Secretary, Director of Livestocks and other staff for probe over an offence, contrary to section 26 of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission 2008(as amended).</p>
<p>He said &#8220;some sections of the media had portrayed the Deputy Governor as being involved in the investigation. This is mischievous, misleading and false.</p>
<p>&#8221; For clarity of doubt, the investigation was initiated with full consent, support and cooperation of His Excellency, the Deputy Governor.</p>

<p>&#8220;Therefore, the general public should disregard any false information suggesting that the Deputy Governor is under investigation,&#8221; part of the letter said.</p>
<p>Recall that the commission is said to have been investigating the permanent secretary, a director and some staff of the ministry allegation of diversion of some funds.</p>
<p>The commission had already recovered the sum of N7,150,000 out of the money said to have been diverted in the ministry, while other amount are going to be recovered.</p>
