The Atiku Support Organisation ASO, has called on the general public to disregard a congratulatory message Circulating about Ambassador Aliyu Ibn Abbas as Chief of Staff, ASO
.
In a statement by the organization’s Director on Voter Education and Publicity, Dr. El Mo Victor said ASO is dissociating itself from the false and misleading message circulating.
“We wish to dissociate the Atiku Support Organisation (ASO) from this false premise and misleading message” noted Dr. El MO Victor.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Amb Aliyu Bin Abbas was a pioneer member of ASO, a group founded by His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, as a vehicle to drive youth participation in politics”
Dr. El MO said Aliyu was subsequently appointed as the Chief of Staff to the Director-General of ASO on 25th July 2020 and On 30th July 2020, Aliyu Bin Abbas resigned from his appointment with ASO to enable him to concentrate on managing the Atiku Care Foundation.
The Director Voter Education added that following the resignation of Aliyu Abbas, the office of the chief of staff was scrapped as agreed by the National executives which rendered it nonexistent in ASO.
ASO, therefore, called on people to ignore the claim or any attempt by persons or groups of persons trying to use ASO to mislead the general public by presenting Aliyu as the Chief of Staff.
