NUJ charge security agencies to stamp out phone Snatching

The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Kano Council has appealed to security agencies in Kano to stamp out incessant phone Snatching Bedevilling the State.

 

This was contained in a communique signed by the chairman Kano Council Abbas Ibrahim and secretary Abba Murtala.

“The congress appeals to the security agencies to step up efforts in addressing rampant cases of phone snatching while the people should assign priority attention to community policing and lamented the increase on Sexual and Gender based violence.

 

The congress calls on parents to check their wards against swimming in ponds especially in this raining season for the fear of being drown.

The august body urges the state government to look into the issue of deplorable condition of roads in the state.

The meeting calls on the state government to urgently come to the aid of communities affected by flooding across the state.

The congress appeals on the security agencies to check indiscriminate use of PRESS stickers by non-members.

The union appreciates the state government for upward review of scholarship allowances, payment of outstanding fees to foreign students and strict adherence of COVID-19 protocols in schools.

The meeting calls on commercial banks operating in the state to intensify efforts in total protection of customer’s funds from activities of Yahoo boys.

The union congratulates six of its members who were elevated to rank of directors in the state civil service.

The congress also condoles with the state government and people of the state over the demise of Senator Hamisu Musa”
