4 Married Women Kidnapped in Katsina

As Katsina banditry continues bandits have again attacked Dankurmi village in Sabuwa local government of Katsina state and whisked away 4 Married Women

 

The Village which is located at Sayau Ward of Sabuwa Local government area and the attack took place on the second of September 2020.

The bandits kidnapped 4 married women at around 12:Am

“In the third attack in less than 2months Fulani bandits in their numbers attacked  DANKURMI village in Sayau ward of Sabuwa LGA Katsina state at 12:00am 2/9/2020 and kidnapped 4 married women’’

When contacted the police public relations officer Katsina State command SP Gambo Isa could not be reached on phone.

For months residents of Sabuwa local government have been complaining of bandits attack from one village to another.

 

The Katsina attacks have left many residents especially men fleeing the towns for the fear of the unknown.

Even last month’s some Katsina women complain of eating Animal Bran due to attacks which made their villagers flee the towns and made their farms redundant without any harvest this year.

Banditry violence has affected populations living in Nigeria’s Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Katsina states in the northwest.  About 21 million people living in these states have been exposed to insecurity from activities of bandits. Unconnected to the Boko Haram insurgency in the northeast, the banditry violence began as a farmer/herder conflict in 2011 and intensified between 2017 to 2018 to include cattle rustling, kidnapping for ransom, sexual violence, and killings. The violence has affected about 35 out of 92 local government areas in the 4 state
