Deposed Kano emir Muhammad Sanusi II has returned to Lagos after a stay in Kaduna state.
The dethroned emir had visited Kaduna where the state governor Nasir El Rufai gave him a rousing reception.

He also met with several groups and enthusiasts who came to show solidarity with him since his removal in March.
The former Central bank governor left for Lagos at the weekend with plans to relocate to Azare in Bauchi state.
A source close to him said Azare town being the place where his grandfather Sanusi 1 stayed after his abdication in 1963 is Sanusi‘s next abode.
He told our source that the renovations have reached an advanced stage and the ex monarch will soon relocate to the place.
Another source told this Newspaper that the 14 Emir of Kano wants to conduct a Durbar in Azare but he was advised not to do so because it’s a domain that falls into Katagum Emirate.
If he does that it may infringe on the right of Katagum Emirate and that may mean having double monarchs.
When Muhammad Sunusi II was deposed by Kano State Government on the 9th of March 2020, the state Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje Banished him to Loko in Nassarawa State.
But the Banishment was greeted with condemnation from the civil society and the former Emir’s friends noting that the government of Kano state has trampled on his right.
After his deposition on March 9th which happens on Monday, the Emir spent 4 nights in the villages he was banished to, but his lawyers took the case to an Abuja Federal High Court who declared Muhammad Sunusi’s banishment as illegal and unconstitutional.
He was soon released and went to Lagos state, since March this year the Monarch is living in Lagos until his recent Visit to Kaduna state to assume the role of Chancellor Kaduna State University and Vice-Chairman Kaduna State Investment and Promotion agency.
Immediately after his deposition Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai who is a long term friend of Emir Muhammad Sunusi II appointed him into the two positions
