Murtala Sule Garo become a Household name in Nigeria following one of the most contested elections in the History of Kano state. North-western Nigeria.
Recently the Economic and Financial crimes commission invited the Kano state commissioner for local government and grilled him on how he acquired some properties as a public officer.
Murtala Sule Garo who bear the Name Kwamanda was said to have originated from his former political benefactor and In-law who is also a former Governor of Kano state Enigineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
During the 2014 local government elections in Kano which was won by All Progressives congress Murtala Sule Garo become the Chairman of his native local Government that is Kabo local government in Kano state.
But as All Progressives Congress won the Gubernatorial elections, the new Kano state Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje appointed him into the Juicy ministry of Local Government thereby vacating his position as the Chairman of Kabo Local Government.
Observers from Kano seat of power including the Nigerian Tracker learnt that Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo is among the influential commissioners in Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s cabinet and one of the closest.
Since his days as Kano state Deputy Governor when he visits local Governments ,Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje mostly visits Kabo and when Chairman Murtala Sule Garo come to receive the Governor he use to bow down to Dr Ganduje, for the respect he has for the person of the Governor.
Observers then realized that if Dr Ganduje decides to contest for the Kano Governor-Ship election no doubt he will carry Murtala Sule Garo along.
Even when Gandujiyya Kwankwasiyya political conflict sets in March 2016 there was expectation that Murtala Sule Garo will pitch his tent with Kwankwasiyya considering some factors.
First he is an In-law to former Governor of Kano state Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and one of the young politicians groomed by the former governor and pitching his tent with Gandujiyya political camp surprised many individuals .
Murtala Sule Garo’s sacrifice to even smear his name in the eyes of the world and to ensure Gandujiyya returned to power by all means possible through allegations of tearing elections result sheet showcased him as a dogged fighter and someone who will not deter until he ensured his party returned to power in Kano in the year 2019.
But with all these and with the 2023 General elections approaching politicians sees the Invitation of Murtala Sule Garo popularly known as Kwamanda as political persecution.
A former colleague of Murtala Garo recently said on his facebook page though sarcasm that one has instigated EFCC to interrogate the other, this confession was made by Engineer Muaz Magaji Dawakin Tofa ,the Kano state former Commissioner of works and Housing who was sacked by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on the alleged celebration of the death of President Buharis Late Chief of Staff Malam Abba Kyari.

During the week , a fake letter also circulated on the social media purportedly saying Murtala Sule Garo was even sacked from his position as commissioner for local government by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje which turned to be fake.
As 2023 approaches political watchers and observers will continue to analyze and comment on many people’s fate in the APC government of Kano state which is bent on retaining power at all costs as it did in the year 2019.
But with axing people like Murtala Sule Garo who almost become bare in order to make APC government return to power, is there anybody who is ready to accomplish that mission perpetrated by Commander in the March 2019 General elections in Kano?
