<p>Lawan, 35, was alleged to have been detained by his biological father, Mallam Lawan at Sheka Unguwar Fulani adjacent Gidan Mai Unguwa Bello for that length of time without allowing him to even enjoy any sunlight.</p>

<p>Ibrahim was, however, quickly moved to the Mallam Aminu Kano Hospital for medical checks.</p>
<p>But Ibrahim, who was 20 at the time of his detention, was alleged to have become mentally unstable.</p>
<p>He is the second person to have been rescued by the Police in the past 48 hours in Kano.</p>
<p>These days in Kano and some northern states of Nigeria there has been a surge in these criminal acts where parents locked up their children for a number of years without considering the consequences.</p>
<p>Last week in the Mariri area of Kano metropolis a 30-year-old Man was rescued after his father locked him for seven years.</p>
<p>Another ten-year-old boy was also rescued in Kebbi state when his stepmother acting in connivance with his stepmother tied the boy to where animals are being reared.</p>
<p>He was tied to one of the places where animals eat and drink.</p>
<p>Non -governmental organizations and human rights activists have since condemned the dastardly acts been perpetrated by some parents in the Northern part of Nigeria.<br />
In the mid-year 2019, a house was discovered in Daura of Katsina state where over sixty people were locked up all for the purpose of remolding their behaviors</p>
