Aftermath of Covid19: Mass Wedding conducted Saturday in Kano.

As the year 2020 is coming to an end and with the slow decline of Corona Virus, Mass weddings in hundreds if not thousand were conducted in Kano State, North-Western Nigeria on Saturday.

 

Our Correspondent observed that major parts of old Kano City were chucked up from one spot to another for Wedding attendees.

 

Nigerian Tracker Observed that it has been long in Kano When people trooped out to conduct Wedding Ceremonies in many parts of the State.

With the break out of Corona Pandemic across the world which starts in Wuhan City of China in December 2020, countries across the world imposed a total lockdown where a mass gathering of people was prohibited and banned in order to mitigate the spread of the Pandemic.

 

Kano State Government imposed a total lockdown on the 17th of April and many intending couples postponed their marriage indefinitely.

 

 

With the lifting of the lockdown, thousands of Marriage are expected to hold towards the end of the year 2020.

 

The lockdown had  retarded economic and social activities in the state for months.

Among the Businesses affected by the Pandemic are event centers that were closed in order to avoid congestion.

 

Nigerian Tracker Correspondent who entered the city suddenly witnessed a large gathering of people from Yakasai through Emirs Place to Goron Dutse to Mandawari and parts of Sheka in Kumbotos local government.

 

Also, the outskirts of the city witnessed Marriages which was hitherto not conducted due to Covid-19 protocols.

 

More are expected as intending couples are also warming up to get married.

 

Kano State is the most populous in Nigeria and every weekend Marriage is conducted throughout the year especially when Ramadan fasting approaches.

 

And after the completion of Ramadan fasting the wedding continues in Kano till another year-round.
