The Katsina state government, North-West Nigeria has again sought for the cooperation of the state’s journalist towards fighting banditry in the state
The special adviser to the state governor on security matters Alhaji Ibrahim Katsina made the call during a press briefing held in his office
Alhaji Ibrahim who commended the contribution of the members of the pen profession in fighting banditry by educating the people of the affected communities the Importance of assisting the securities with vital Information also called on them to redouble their efforts in order to bring an end to the menace
The special adviser appreciated the level of success recorded by the joint security personnel against the bandits.

He said the success may not be unconnected with the level of collaboration between the security personnel, the media and the people of the affected communities
The adviser who is optimistic that with the kind of cooperation from the joint efforts the acts of banditry will become the thing of the past in Katsina state
He noted that many Internally displaced persons have begun returning to their various communities and continue with their farming activities
He called on the general public in the state to give their maximum cooperation to the security personnel in order to restore peace in the state.
There have been bandits’ attacks in some villages and prominent local governments in Katsina which also led some people to protest in many parts of the state.
Katsina Government tried to dialogue with the state government but to no avail
