The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency NIHSA has alerted the nation of impending flooding in many parts of the country.
According to the agency, at least one hundred and two local government areas in 28 states are at high risk of flooding this year.
The Director-General of NIHSA Mr. Clement Eze who briefed newsmen on the 2020 annual flood outlook named states such as Lagos. Ogun, Kebbi, Niger, Rivers, Taraba, Benue, Kogi amongst the states that would be hit by the flood.

Others include Anambra, Adamawa, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Bombe, Nasarawa, Sokoto and Zamfara.
Mr. Eze warned those who live on flood plains to relocate to avoid the impending disaster and save their lives.
The NIHSA DG explained that affected state governments had been notified about the impending flood and urged to prepare their people ahead of time.
Mr. Eze also advised Nigerians to avoid littering their environment with substances that could block natural waterways.
