The concerned citizens of Nigeria have condemned the arrest of the President National Association of Bauchi state students Comrade Adamu Musa Kaloma by the Nigerian Police.
In a statement issued to Journalists by the National Coordinator of the Union Senator Khalid Sunusi Kani described the arrest as trampling on the fundamental human right of Comrade Kaloma.
The statement described the arrest of Comrade Kaloma as not in tune with reality considering the fact that the union leader engages in peaceful assembly.

The statement further reads
‘’Assuming but not conceding, the police have the power to prohibit peaceful assemblies and protests, they are to exercise such power when the protest is taking place or do anything reasonable to prevent it but not by the unlawful arrest of a concerned citizen who is aiming of taking necessary measures of discharging his responsibilities as a President and can never constitute an offense without its counterpart”.
Khalid Sunusi further urged the Nigerian police force to unconditionally release Comrade Kaloma within 24 hours and issue a public apology failure to do so will make them take legal action.
‘’Based on the above explicit stand and provisions of the constitution, we firmly condemn the unlawful act of police in arresting an innocent and concerned citizen who wants to exercise his fundamental human right within the ambit of law and we give the police ultimatum of 24 hours from now to release Comrade Adamu Musa KALOMA President National Association of Bauchi State Students and publish public apology failure of which will lead us to take all necessary and legal actions’’ added Khalid.
