Deputy Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule has commissioned a dispensary he built in Basi of Yamrat Ward and launched the disbursement of free drugs to hospitals in his Zungur/Galambi Constituency, today.
Speaking during the commissioning, the Deputy Speaker said he built the hospital in order to ease the hardship communities in the area are facing in accessing healthcare facilities.

According to him, he has observed how people of the area suffered for years in taking sick persons to hospitals in far away Bauchi thus he strategically sited the project in Basi village being a center to many villages in the area.
Hon. Kawule urged the benefiting communities to make good use of the hospital and look after it against vandalism and misuse.

On the free drugs he disbursed to hospitals across the constituency, the Deputy Speaker said the gesture is meant to bring relief to many households whose children fall sick especially in the rainy season, and can’t afford to buy drugs.
He added that within one year he has recorded tremendous achievements in the Constituency which include the provision of various relief packages, developmental projects, and water provision to the Constituency.
Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule who commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad for siting many developmental projects in his Constituency assured the communities that the Governor will soon construct a road from Liman Katagum up to Gudum.
In his remarks, Commissioner of Natural Resources Hon. Nuruddeen Abdulhamid commended the Deputy Speaker for constructing a hospital in Bashi which he said will ameliorate the hardship communities in the area.
The Commissioner who donated a generator to the hospital urged the communities not to allow the facilities to decay.
In his speech, chairman Caretaker Committee of Bauchi Local Government represented by Director Health of the Local Government Alhaji Bako Garba Gamawa applauded Hon. Kawule for keying into healthcare delivery in the local government which he said is unprecedented.
According to him the hospital is fully equipped with health facilities by the Deputy Speaker and has already begun operations.
Speaking on behalf of the communities Village Head of Yamrat explained that they will never forget the Deputy Speaker for coming to their rescue after many years without health facility in the area.
In a statement by Abdul Burra said the Village Head prays to Almighty Allah to bless the deputy speaker and pledged to support him always.
