Kano State Government has announced ban on all celebrations to take place during the forth coming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations in a bid to prevent spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Commissioner for Information, Comrade Muhammad Garba disclosed this during a joint press conference in the state. According to him, Eid prayers would be carried out with strict compliance to the laid down protocols.
Muhammad Garba further stated that all the Emirs of the four Emirate Councils of Gaya, Karaye, Bichi and Rano will carry out the prayers at their councils.
The Commissioner added that personal preventive equipment and hand washing drums would be provided at various mosques across the 44 local government areas for us to stem spread of the pandemic.
He however noted that Government officials would nominated to monitor activities at the five emirate councils in the state to ensure maximum compliance to the laid down rules.
It could be recalled that the Government issued a similar directive during the 2020 Eid-el-fitr celebrations to curb spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
