KAROTA usurping Police Duties ,Northern Youth lament

A Northern youth organization called Northwest-West Youth Awareness Foundation has asked the Nigerian Police force to stop Kano Roads and Traffic agency, KAROTA from taking over the activities of the Nigerian police force.

The chairman of the group Mahmud Garba Shawai stated this during an interview with the Nigerian Tracker.

Comrade Garba Shawai said it’s unfortunate that Northwest Youth awareness foundation has learnt with dismay the hijacking of the activities of police by the Kano Road Traffic agency.

“Our call is about the act being perpetrated by the Kano Road Traffic Agency, when we talk about Road Traffic agency,their jurisdiction is only Roads and traffic but the police are responsible for the security of the state, therefore the hijacking of the police duty by KAROTA is not meant for security of the state but for the sake of revenue generation” said Shawai.
Comrade Shawai added that they wrote a letter to the Kano state command of the Nigeria police force to checkmate the illegal activities of KAROTA.

He noted that KAROTA doesn’t have the right to arrest and doing so may destabilize the security of the state.

Since it’s the jurisdiction of the police to arrest , they are seeing KAROTA as usurpers.
